Kyosho TR15 modded to look alike SG Coyote...
Hi guys.
Long time ago since last topic started.
Here I am to show you all one of my latest creatures... Perro Loco 2020.
I always wanted to have a SG Coyote 4WD because I raced one a lot of time ago and was a total disaster in terms of mechanical reliability. During past year 2019 I started to think about a reliable tranny, cheap and easy to care for. Also tranny look was important and I found Kyosho TR15 bevel diff cases looked pretty close to SG Coyote ones.
First step done, choose gears. Second one followed, get a cheap used TR15 and dismantle it. This was easy because a good friend of mine had a bunch of those cars and spares.
Thrid step, create all other parts to link all Kyosho parts including suspensions to create a modern buggy with vintage look.
Carbon chassis, 3D printed parts, some other hand made, TBG Coyote body, Kyosho Optima LWB front wheels, Cournon Mantova tires all around, ZD Racing big bore shocks and cheap electronic gear for testing.
Custom decals also to completely wrap a Coyote body that have been painted white only. Those decals were so funny to create and place.
Hope you like it.

Now that´s something special and well executed.
I would find a more "vintage" looking set of shocks for it?

I was considering Xtra gold shocks for Optima all around, and maybe in a future I´ll swap these due other "incoming needs".

Wow! I'm unfamiliar with both models but it appears your car required a tremendous effort to design and execute.
The pinion/spur is unlike anything I've seen before.
I am very impressed, it looks great.
Will you ever run the car or is it going on the shelf?

Car features conical gears on both pinion and spur to match angle needed to place shorty lipo under center shaft. System lightly tested at home and I have plans to attend any of our vintage meetings once Covid frees us.
Another set of straight gears have been designed for mod1 pinions just un casa conical design fails.
Not a racer yet but who knows tomorrow
