"Holy Grail" Technigold came today....yanked it apart to see if it was authentic cause it turned more rpm at middle timing than i thought it should. 22,200 @ rpm 7.2v. Looks authentic to me. Seems it might have been balanced professionally.

That motor looks like it's in good shape. It will be cool to see how well it performs in the Hotshot. I've never seen one run so I have no idea how they compare to modern Tamiya brushed motors.

Have had zero time to start this restoration but gathering parts and got motor rebuilt. Put in new brushes, cut the comm, ceramic bearings and new decal. Shes a ripper, 23,000rpm @ 7.2v, zero degrees timing

Nice. Are you going to run it in the Hotshot or keep it in your motor collection?

Should be a fun restoration project.
Looking forward to updates.
By chance have you seen this:

I'm guessing the gold wheels on your car are original while the white ones on Matteo's car are re-re?
Matteo does some great videos - and this is one of my favourites.

Actually my cars original wheels were painted gold. the 85' wheels it came with are white under the paint.
I have seen that video! love it.i just sent my cousin "they took my thumb" (huge bigwig on this site) a text message earlier today that said......(i have watched em all...Hotshot promo videos rule! David (coxbros) [not coxbros1] says an original piece is the best car made for the era)
