MG Magnum Yokomo Comm Lube Model - 1983

Post by dinglem »

Another great find.... this one I knew existed so set about trying to locate one. I haven't stripped it down yet to check the spec/wind, but it is based around a Yokomo modified, but basically has had a hole drilled into the endbell, through which a wick encased in plastic tube was inserted and filled with 'Mr.Cool' comm drops prior to the start of the race.

I had previously read a few early magazine articles on this set up from late '83, and eventually found a Nov/Dec '83 MG advert to match. After that an unopened bottle of 'Mr.Cool' appeared, and now the motor itself has come my way, albeit with a very faded MG label. Pretty cool (literally).
