Re: Vintage Dumas Hotshot Sprint resto
CG center of gravity 28 to 30 percent from the rear of boat
also play with prop height
set you boat on the kitchen table split the table like you are trying to put a leaf in it.
set it on the small split so the motor is hanging in the split.
no prop on it the prop shaft should be around 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch above the table top
or above the sponson bottoms

Re: Vintage Dumas Hotshot Sprint resto
Thanks Marty, I read that somewhere on the RCGroups forum where there's a FeiLun FT012 thread, but forgot the exact center of gravity front-to-rear ratio. It's good to know as I did a lot of modding to my FT012 and I need to check my boat's CG before the maiden voyage.marty slater wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 9:57 pm CG center of gravity 28 to 30 percent from the rear of boat

Re: Vintage Dumas Hotshot Sprint resto
lets say the boat is 30 in long 30 x .28 = 8.4 in from the rear of sponson or 30 x .30 =9 in from rear of sponson
take a small dowel rod lay it under sponsons an roll it back an forth to find balance point
