Help me find a Radio Control Car Action ad?

I’ve been searching and searching with no luck finding the picture I’m looking for. I was about to start buying some old magazines on eBay but at $9.99-$15.00 a pop plus shipping that’s an expensive gamble.

I’m looking for the full page advertisement for the Protoform Rambunctious GT body. From memory the truck was painted a burgundy color. And it’s sitting on chrome proline wheels with proline road hawgs. Going through the magazine archives with no ads. I’ve seen the body on a readers ride in April ‘95. So hoping it would be around that timeframe.

Any one willing to flip through their old mags your help is greatly appreciated.

The one on the very bottom has the correct body and wheel tire combo. But that’s not the advertisement picture I’m thinking of. Could be the correct paint scheme though.

Not that one. If I remember right it was a slightly more straight on shot looking down the drivers side. The overall page was kinda dark background.

I’m wanting to think I’ve seen the picture again some years ago, and should’ve saved it. But the rear shock tower they photoshopped to show the wording on the spoiler.

I'm pretty sure I know the ad your talking about, I remember it as a burgundy color too. I'll have a look when I get back home later today if nobody beats me to it.

I found it in the 1997 RCCA magazines, no larger photos of it that I could find? There are actually quite a few odd bodies produced by proline that I've never seen before.

It actually looks to be an anodized purple color... It is the truck in the 3rd photo down.

I’m gonna have to say that’s it. I guess my memory was pretty foggy about Some of the details. Unless..... that’s not the only ad. But that definitely looks like the truck I remember.

That picture is plenty for me to go off of for my paint scheme. We’ll see later how much I can replicate that purple or not. I won’t be that disappointed if it’s not perfect. It’s just an advert I remember liking as a young kid.

But. If you want to keep looking. I would think the larger page ads would be earlier in the bodies release. I’m not sure when that was but I’d think earlier possibly even in the ‘93’s. I can’t remember when dodge released that body style ram or when Protoform started copying it.

The only other place I may have recalled seeing it larger was on one of the Proline catalog posters.

All the '98 issues had a different paint scheme, and it wasn't in the '95 issue with the 10T. I dont have any '96 issues to check.

The body was Protoform. But I guess it’s possible I’m thinking about a Proline ad for the road hawg tires. Either way it’s not to big of a deal now that you found that picture. I’m looking to paint the body as close to that as possible. I just wanted to see if I was crazy or not for thinking I remember the ad a different way. I did nail that photoshopped rear tower bump like a split hog. But that’s probably the one I remember seeing in the more recent years.

Well, I thought it was burgundy too 20+ years ago was a long time ago.

If you look at the picture on a phone and hold your arm out it kinda looks burgundy.
