Clodbuster Engine Mod

Post by Basher67 »

I've never been satisfied with the original or the super clodbuster engine sticking out of the hood. The original had the nicely shaped hilborn injection style "bug catcher", but it just sat low on a rectangular block. The super clod had a bitchin' supercharger sticking out of the hood, but was topped off by a goofy looking oversized scoop. I don't know why it's taken me so many years to figure this out, or if it's been done by others, but I decided to combine the two for the best of both. It was pretty easy, and a little dremel work later, and here is the results. I love how it turned out! Please forgive the condition of my clods body. I drive this truck like it's a rental

Looks great Basher. I love square body Chevy's and GMC's - my all time favorite pickups!! Wish I had a 1:1 sitting in my driveway.
Anyway, have you considered fabricating the drive pulley and belt?

To be honest, I probably wouldn't go to all the trouble to make it that scale because I really do pound the hell out of this truck. But it would be cool for a clod body on a scale crawler.
My daily driver is an '83 K5 blazer. 6" lift, 35" tires, 5.3 LS conversion, 4L60E trans, NP241 transfer case, 3/4 ton axles. My little hunting rig.

Yes, I remember. Very jealous!
And you were kind enough to send me some dimensions and reference photos of the sun visors.
Thanks again for that, I've put that info to good use.

Although, I'd prefer to have one I can climb in and drive. :D

EDIT: I'll post pics of the blazer in another thread so that we can stay on topic here.

Looks good basher.
XLRB that pic of your 1/10 Blazer looks almost identical to a real Blazer I use to have. I had a 73 Blazer years ago that was that exact same color paint job. Only thing different was I had wide white stripes on the hood of mine.
