Re: Stinger MKll restoration
The Stingers original rear susoension geometry is horrible. Where the shocks mount to the outside u couldnt get the suspension to soften up at all, even with 10wt oil and light springs. Tge Optima rear arms fixes it and were perfect for the legth of the HG shocks....all four same length.
I know pics suck, i cant use flash cause reflection from aluminum chassis screws it upTap pic for clarity: Derek

Just to avoid confusioncoxbros1 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2019 6:38 pm Optima rear arms top, Stinger bottom. Same arms, different lower shock positions to allow the "bitchn" HG shock set to work.

Some parts cleaned, not all. Still got front end to do. Chassis is gonna need some work....pretty rough cosmetically

Top set of arms are rears from the 2016 re-release optima mold OT-201
Bottom set of arms are rears from the original Optima mold OT-13

Correct on the top arms....didnt know that on bottom set, they are what came on the car. Are the bottom set original to the Stinger line?

Yes, bottom ones are stock for the Stingers, Optima, Optima Pro and Javelin.

Still got alot if little things to do. Bidy, Shocks need thicker oil, make some wing mounts(didnt come with any), trim front body post which i made once body is cut out. Got all new ball ends comin too....but otherwise turning out real real decent. Lookn forward to entering it in Jan or Feb build and see how it fairs

Re: Stinger MKll restoration
Dissapointed in the body. Looks better in pics than it is.
The inverted decals didn't do as good as last time. Slight bubbles are showing thru from under the decal. I had to change up box art scheme slightly do to me screwing up the decals on the nose. Oh well.....i tried real hard, just didnt work out. All in all tho i really like the car, real nice piece. Got a photo booth cheap on ebay, so gonna try some better pics in that.

Re: Stinger MKll restoration
Looks pretty good in the pics Derek, how did you go about doing the wing mount? I'm missing that too.

Re: Stinger MKll restoration
Last pic looks great! A nice silhouette of Michael Myers in the background would really set it off though. Needs to be real subtle. You know, where you only notice after you've taken in the car...
