This is the first RC car I bought in 1986-1987. I had scavenged parts from this car to build my Houge back in the day.
I recently brought it back to life. New build 6 gear transmission, B6.1d shocks, B4 front caster blocks and B4 rear hub carriers, Yokomo CVA axels, new Avid bearings, Lunsford hinge pins, Associated turnbuckles, Associated ESC and motor, Associated servo and Spektrum receiver. Body from Sabula Tech and my favorite “Dip” so far.

10LS made from spare parts. TA titanium rear axle, ultra light rear hubs, titanium front end hardware and inline front axles. Home made nerf wings, aluminum front spacers and bumper with underside chip guard. Checkpoint 12 turn motor with Tekin G12 ESC, Futaba servo and AM receiver. Powered by making a Reedy 3600mah nimh saddle pack (haven't made one in years!). Actual Mazda PSE body used for advertising by Parma around 1993. Setup is pretty much how I used to run these back in the day.

Thought I'd re run this one as she got so little love before .
Very custom , 20 mm longer , 20 mm wider , ball diff up front , spur gear slipper , hybrid vintage/modern rear ball diff , hand made chassis , extended custom trailing arms etc etc ... oh and a Lancia Stratos Alitalia inspired paint job.

I'll fill a space.....

Hardly run A stamp RC10, a re-creation of my car that I purchased new in 1985 and raced at club level. Although the car changed a bit I've fitted the parts that I remember having, so these are: Futaba 128 servo, R102GS receiver, MC8 speed controller, Parma Yokomo Stock 'pink' motor, CRP bumper and Proline Waffle rear tyres. Only thing I haven't got is a Parma gear cover and the decals are probably different.

yeah, one might wonder.

I'm thinking that pan cars do good up here since its something outta the norm. Just a guess but someone sees a buggy or truck all day with their stuff and then see something sleek and 'fast' and its like HEY! look at that. Thats not My case but at the same time something different is kinda good to change things up once in awhile.

Speaking of that it seems the number of entries have gone down quite a bit. Seems a struggle to get any entrants any more. I was throwing up pix just to take up space for a few months but can't post up 5 to take space so any ideas out there what we could do to spice up these BOTM contests? What can we do to get some more action in here? Do we need to 'advertise' outside of this part of the board? Shake it up with clunker of the month? Basher of the month? All out give it up to begin with? I would like to hear some thoughts from the guys in here to see what their thoughts are myself to see who actually reads anymore to see what kind of interest there actually is.

Personally Todd, I've been lax in getting entries in for a few months now... sometimes there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. That, and not completing any projects to the required standard...

It looks like we had a slow month quantity-wise, but you can't fault the quality (again) - I could quite easily have voted for any one of this month's entries.

Do we need to 'advertise'? No, I don't think so.... the monthly winner is posted on the 10Talk FB page, so if that isn't attracting new entries, I can't see what more could be done - at least, in the spirit of the community.

As for 'clunker / basher of the month', while that would make for an interesting month, it might not stack up as well in the end-of-year competition...

Just consider it an off month.... and look forward to more awesome entries (again) next month!

I think some months are low due to many works in progress. I am that way too as life seems to get in the way all too often and funds run low so projects remain incomplete for quite some time. Though the quality of entries every month is truly stunning!

I would have no problem doing other kinds of contests. Stuff like rooster tails, airborne shots, car displays, work spaces, parts walls, etc. You would have to do away with the year ending contest in December though. Or maybe do the contests quarterly and let the 4 winners go at it in December. That might be an idea.

I can understand there being a lull in the spring-summer months. There always has been since the forum started. The biggest problem is it's doesn't pick back up in the fall like it used to.... which is unfortunate.
