franken rustler
ended up with a old early traxxas rustler nitro chassis with a bent up rear
dug around and decided I had enough parts for a franken rustler
cut off the rear that was bent and mounted a early traxxas transmission (mounted up perfect)
3d printed some tie rods , and a set of rear a-arms
and got it all built up
due to the shock tower not having any thing to mount to front side , the chassis has some flex so I mocked up a brace/battery tray
first draft was a bit to tall and hit the rear arms so quick redesign and I go this
at this point the rear is done except I need a idler gear for the trans and slipper parts

Re: franken rustler
That nitro hawk chassis was a great oval car. Not so much for an offroader though. Might surprise you though since its really not a nitro hawk anymore. You'll be able to swap out the output shaft to the newer vxl slipper setup and do some much more with that trans. To save yourself some work you can swap out AE rc10t3 arms and turnbuckles on the front to widen your stance to get it close to the rear width. They just need a lil bit o shimming to get them to work. I got one like that awhile back off ebay since I didn't really check out the pix very well
I love the recycling of it all

trying to 3d print as much as I can
good to know its a nitro hawk chassis (had rustler stickers all over it so thought it was a old rustler)
so I do need to change the output shaft also to convert to the newer slipper (have the slipper parts and spur was just going to go with it like that lol )

Re: franken rustler
well was not able to build it 100% from spare parts
I was short a front hub
left the original front bulkhead and shock tower
used rustler front arms with shims to make them fit the front bulkhead
front shocks are from a old evader
just got back from the hobby shop (50$ later ) and now have the front hub and complete new trans gear set
rear brace /batt tray just finished printing (one in pics was the prototype) , so im printing a set of front arms also to match the rear
