Hesse/TTR Clodbuster

Post by MelvinsArmy »

I sold my Powers/JPS Clod a few years back, and I miss it. JPS is out of business so when Hesse Machine offered a run of aluminum Clod axles at the end of 2018 I had to get a pair and build a new Clodbuster. I opted for straight axle housing at the rear. The chassis is a Thunder Tech Ripper. TTR also had some straight axles available for the rear, up front I have some CVDs. Shocks are Proline and the wheels and tires are JConcepts. I’m excited to have it sitting as a roller right now. I’m not sure what I’ll do for power, probably something boring, maybe even silver can 540s. Not trying to build a crazy speed machine, just a rad basher. I have a body but probably won’t get it painted until the weather cooperates, I don’t have a spray booth. Anyway here’s a peek, more to come. This is my first r/c build in ages, I’m super stoked.

Super Rad build! Good choice on motors, those bag motors are Thumbs favorites, love to see couple vintagw MRP bag motors in it
These would be pimp!

Thanks for posting this. I just bought a set of these axles and steering knuckles to go with my Hesse Gear Boxes. I would not have known that they were available if not for your post.
Once I get my Rogue Element Wheels, I think that my 7 year build of my clod will be done. I will have a maxed out all aluminum clod that I have wanted since the 80's.
I will post my truck once it is complete.
Love to build......need to practice painting
Associated - Worlds, B6D
Traxxas - Rad2, TCP, Stampede, Villain IV
Tamiya - CLODBUSTER
As you can see....I sold most of my cars. Funding Pinball now.
