Re: Building a Shelfer 10T from a Pile of Parts
Still need to paint the body on the "Shelfer", but in the meantime, I started going thru parts, doing some cleaning, etc, and started putting together a runner as well. I think I have enough to build a 3rd 10T that I'll put up on eBay and recoup some cost from building the others.
So far my "Runner" is coming together. I opted for Worlds Re Re bellcranks after doing a bit of research. I also added B6 HD ball studs. I'll be adding some carbon fiber shock towers next.

Re: Building a Shelfer 10T from a Pile of Parts
Are any modifications needed for the re-re bellcranks? I have difficulty setting up the steering in my runner RC-10T. The tie rod off of the servo either hits the mounts or the servo strains trying to push the wheels too far. I'm wondering if the re-re set up maybe solves some of these issues.erichevy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 12:11 pm Still need to paint the body on the "Shelfer", but in the meantime, I started going thru parts, doing some cleaning, etc, and started putting together a runner as well. I mounted them in the forward holes with 1/2" 8-32 button head stainless screws. I read that you need to add a couple of the aluminum #4 washers under the ball studs on each side to help with bump steer as well. I heard bad things about the stock steering, which is why I went this route.blk05wrx wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 5:50 pmAre any modifications needed for the re-re bellcranks? You shelfer came out great. Super clean. Look forward to the painted body.

Re: Building a Shelfer 10T from a Pile of Parts
Got my order in from Avid Bearing so I was able to put the transmission together and do a little more assembly. Waiting on some shorter turnbuckles now so I can use the B6 ball cups.
Next up is a shock rebuild. Should get that done today.

The "Runner" is a roller now. I really like the B6 ball studs and ball cups. I had to purchase some shorter turnbuckles to make it all work tho. The World's steering is nice too. I am using T4 CVD's on this as well. No binding and they will definitely not pop out of the outdrives.
