Hello from South Jersey
Hello from South Jersey
Just was going through some of my old RC stuff and thought maybe I should get back into the hobby again. Its been a long time. Much has changed but I loved my RC 10 and was thinking maybe I should rebuild it. I went to a few local hobby shops and they pretty much said those cars are worthless. I find that hard to believe. so thats why I m here seeking expert advice. i look forward to learning some stuff.

So here’s what I got. It’s an A stamp. Needs cleaning and restoration and updated electronics.

Welcome back to the hobby, and to RC10Talk! A gold pan is always a good base from which to build your RC empire.
Good luck with the restoration, and don't forget to post photos!

Welcome, winkjr. You have a "golden oldie" there, deserving of restoration.

My expert advice is related to how you should behave towards your LHSs. I will use a video to illustrate my thoughts. Focus on the elaborate chorus punchline, please, and order online from now on.
Having said that - you have a lovely car that will stand the test of times, quality- and value-wise waaaay better than any plastic-fantastic POS sold by the aforementioned "hobby" stores.
Welcome aboard

Nice RC10, it looks as if it should clean up nicely. They are FAR from worthless as you can see from the plethora of threads here.
So you're from south Jersey? Ever been to Wildwood? My family and I vacationed there for around 20 years!

Wildwood.... that takes me back to the old WZXL radio promos, back when I was visiting South Jersey in the early - mid 90's. Not easy to do when you're from Australia.....
Spent a bit of time down that way.... so many years ago.

Re: Hello from South Jersey
as long as the second "them" refers to your useless LHS rather than your car, you'd be fine

ok so you live in australia and traveled to NJ to visit. I guess back then the secret of it being the armpit of NY and Philadelphia didn't get out.Incredible_Serious wrote: ↑Wed Apr 11, 2018 11:47 pmWildwood.... that takes me back to the old WZXL radio promos, back when I was visiting South Jersey in the early - mid 90's.
