Vintage 1/5 scale dragster/hot rod quick change rear end/axle
Vintage 1/5 scale dragster/hot rod quick change rear end/axle
I got this on ebay not too long ago, happened to come across it by chance, bid really big on it and now have it, really well made and have no clue who if a person or a company made it.
Its so well constructed, just beautiful. I wanted to know if anyone out there knows anything about it, it measures 10" from axle end to axle end, around 1/5 scale. it has a fixed drive shaft, all metal gears, looks to be stainless steel propeller shaft and drive shaft.
The only clue is the word 'CLASSIC' on the back cover plate. Gear ratio is 1:5
I was not able to put in 4 more images, all can be found here

Thank you
Ron

Re: Vintage 1/5 scale dragster/hot rod quick change rear end/axle
I've never seen one that looks identical to that before. It might not even be vintage. The only 1/4 scale quick change rears that I know the name of are Skellenger. There are forums out there dedicated to just large scale R/C where someone would definitely be able to identify it.
On a side note, if you ever need to attach more pictures than the limit, just start another post under your first one with the rest.

Thanks guys, I will do that, this is neither of those brands, both those I have seen and they are a little different plus they are 1/4 scale, this is smaller. It is old the way its made and all, not new for sure. This was part of a large large vintage collection that the seller had acquired from a collector, this was part of that, tether car parts, chassis, cooling, mccoy motors, 1/6 scale outboard engines, postcards from the 40s, 50s, dolls, all sorts of stuff.
Even though this was titled badly, there were a lot of bidders and I spent a pretty penny getting this, If it had been titled appropriately, I am sure this would have gone for double what I paid
I will try other sites as well, really would love to know where it is from, most importantly, get a build going. It is really nice to look at and puts a smile on your face.
