Scr8p's Worlds Re-re #4 / Modern Masami Replica - '94 Winterchamps
I picked up an almost RTR Worlds car a few weeks before Christmas. This one is going to become a modernized replica of Masami's rc10 he used to win the '94 Florida Winterchamps.
So this is what I started with.
Tore the car all down to clean the parts and start fresh. I also picked up a new black classic tub which is out getting milled at the moment. Got the rear arm assemblies back together, as well as the front end. Rebuilt the trans, but I still have to do the alterations to the motor plate.
Added the "worlds" camber holes, and did a little bit of trimming to the bulkhead.
Masami used a Composite Craft bellcrank in the original car, which was black. So I gave the kit bellcrank a dye bath. I also did the servo mounts. Masami taped his servo in but I want to bolt it down. I figured doing the mounts black would help make them blend in with the servo.

Nice man, very nice! I'm digging what you've done to the bulkhead.

The bulkhead is so subtle it's almost not even worth doing. But, that's how the original one is, so.......
I was trying to decide on what turnbuckles to go with on this. Masami used the later style RCPS turnbuckles. It would have been easier (and cheaper) to just get a set of Punishers and be done with it, but I wanted to use something that looked a little closer. So, I decided to use AE FT turnbuckles. I just had to remove the blue from the titanium. I heard about this Whisk Rust Remover that is supposed to do just that. Local grocery store had it in stock for a few dollars. It only takes a few seconds for it to come off. I'm still waiting for the rear camber links to show up and i'll do them all at once.

Yeah, me either. I figured I'll just put right hand threads on it and use it for a servo rod.

You could try to single point it....
Is that just a defect or what? Can't imagine it being that way on purpose...

I swear AE's QC is total crap!! Ugly green molded ball cups, CVA's that are too short, gearboxes that don't spin, etc, etc... Will you let them know? You should.

Haha... I don't know, he's pretty talented. I wouldn't be surprised.

Alright......
So I got the motor plate cut.
Then I figured I might as well just get the turnbuckles I have in hand stripped and get the ball cups on them.

I also picked up a new Novak Pulse esc for it. I'll be doing this one like my modern Kinwald build. Using newer versions of the original electronics. Still have to get a KO servo and a Reedy motor.
