My highly modified Grasshopper II

Hi, i'm new to the forum, i'm from Italy and my name is Gabriele.
I would like to share my Grasshopper II, modified with indipendent suspensions.She is my first rc car, bought by my dad for me in 1989.I tried to touch the original chassis the less possibile, that's the reasons why i used the original damper attach points.

front is from kyosho ultima, rear duratrax street force gp!

Thank you! Yes, basically, main chassis mods are only a couple of drills
The alu brace for the front was made by my father 30 years ago.

Still i don't know how she handles, i'm waiting for some properly sized lipo pack that fits the battery tray!

That is incredible, I love it. With that lever of modification though, you didn't want to use one of the CRP aluminum front shock towers?

Yes , crp was an option, but i wanted to preserve the original main chassis as much as possible.Of course my choice has some drawbacks, the bigger one is that there is very little space to mount shocks.That's the reason why i used an unsual solution to attach them to the "tower", to gain some more space.So more travel for the front suspensions.I will see if this is enough when i'll drive the car

I have a Grasshopper II and have always like the look of it, but not the handling. I didn't buy it for its performance though. I really like what you've done with yours. It looks like it should handle as well as it looks, now. Well done!

well, considered how bad the original grasshopper handling is, it should not be too much difficult to improve it

That's a very clever rear suspension design , well done and give us a running rapport when you have the battery .
