Re: CVA options
you might be able to run the sc10 cvd's with the sc10 rear hubs, if they are like B4. B4 pushes the lower hinge pin in about 4mm. this would eat up the extra 1/8" in dogbone length and you might be able to adjust out the extra mm with shims and camber.

Re: CVA options
I'm running the sc10/t4 cvd now. It could be that I'm also using the 12mm hex adapters which are making up the extra room over the universal pin.

Re: CVA options
The bone is too long before the hub not after so hexes make zero difference.. All you can do is try harder to find the original parts or experiment with rear hubs an T4/SC10 bones..

Re: CVA options
By rights, since the Thunder Tiger Phoenix stII is basically a T3, these "should" drop right in (with 3/16 bearings obviously).

Re: CVA options
I am using T3 CVD's in my 10T.
10T/T2/T3/GT all use the same CVD's.
The Thunder Tiger Phoenix ST ones which fit, are CVA's and use metric nuts on the axles.
Cheers, Dave.

Re: CVA options
Thanks guys for all the help. One more really dumb question. If I change from 1/4" to 3/16" axles, I know I'm going to have to change the rear carriers, but what about my wheels? I am running HPI Super Stars. Do I just need to purchase a new set of HPI wheel adapters like this:

Re: CVA options
these guys should work:

pretty much any 3/16" hex adapter should work, traxxas makes some as well.

Re: CVA options
If I want to build my own associated CVA kit for 1/4" RC10T, would the RC10 kit work with longer dogbones?

Re: CVA options
EMC You can use the T2/3/GT cvd bones with the B4 cvd axles, and look for the two pack of axles rather than single it's much more cost effective

Re: CVA options
Thanks, I was able to put together a set and it worked out great. One thing I noticed about the T2 axles is that the outdrive end has a slightly smaller "ball" compared to the stock 10T dogbones and so they click a little in my outdrives as they rotate. My solution was putting just a small dab of superlube grease on the ball and they are perfectly silent now. It's a nice upgrade.
