We got this rare AYK beast in the shop this week.
A guy came in when I wasn't around and just dropped it off along with some other stuff for free. Even has a rough but useable body.
Sidewinder/Gator Circus Hobbies with Manual. Though calling it a manual is a little bit of a stretch.
He had a Kyosho Viper Boat and Tamiya Toyota Pre-Runner as well. Like we need more used junk to go through to be honest. But the price was right.

I actually kind of feel bad about it. I would have given him something for it. We don't even know who it was that left it. Complete stranger off the street.

That's cool, that chassis shares a lot with the Buffalo, my buddy had one that I resto-modded for his girlfriend a few years ago. But I never noticed how different the front shock setup was (Buffalo uses a mono-shock). I like the design appearance, how well does it work?

The Buffalo can have issues with bump-steer, so look into that when you're working on that chassis.

My LHS has that same crappy luck(
)...people drop off slot cars/tracks, r/c stuff, model stuff, etc. just because they don't want it around any more. Its not that they even want anything for it but kinda like in your case...just didn't want to throw it away and get it out to someone who can get some use out of it.
You can go the other route and just do a complete refurb on it...looks like it would clean up nice.

When it rains, it pours. We just had a RC10 Gold Pan and Kyosho Rampage get dropped off while I was on vacation. He might be back with more.

i know right. This is actually very odd. Normally people come in with junked out rustlers, stampedes, and sometimes a XXXT. None of them usually are in good condition or really worth much. This year has been crazy so far. The RC10 is in really good shape. The Kyosho is OK condition, bashed around more. Everyone must be cleaning out their houses or storage units.

Re: We got this rare AYK beast in the shop this week.
This is actually how I got my Tamiya 58002 Martini Porsche
I was in my LHS and spied a box over by the consignment shelf. Older women dropped off it off that morning. The box had a sticky note taped to it that said "free to a good home". I peeked inside and tried to contain myself. In shambles was a complete 935 Martini Porsche with radio. It was beat to hell and broken, but when I got it home, with 4 new batteries and old Nimh, I was able to get it powered up and fully functioning. It's fully restored and in my tamiyaclub showroom.
