Dave's a bit silly!

Post by DaveM »

Hi Guys,

Here is another crazy project in the making.

If it wasn't for a stupid neighbor it would be a lot further ahead.

Result mental health problems!

I now accept my health problems, they are what make me the person I am.

I am comfortable now in my own skin.

Now in case you are wondering about the 2 meter measurement in the pic,

that is how long the sheet of ply is I want to buy.

:)

If you are wondering where I am heading,

In South Australia,

A bicycle must have pedals, Check.

No more than three wheels, Check.

I am motorizing this one, which is o.k if you don't exceed the power output they want.

You can bluff that one.

So it will not have to be registered because it is a bicycle.

The body shell will be built on a plywood frame with a thin aluminum skin.

A small windscreen,

With a mesh grill at the front.

And a bonnet mascot!

Like a vintage car or airplane.

A lot of the details are in my head.

Talking to you Guys might get me started again on this project!

:)

That's actually a really cool idea. I'm not sure if something like that would ever be allowed on the road over here in the states. I had a moped back in the mid to late 90s and if the engine was 50cc or under, you didn't have to get it registered or have a motorcycle license. Just get on and go. I wonder if any laws have changed since then. This doesn't help your cause in any way, I was just thinking out loud.

That is a sweet idea! I'm just curious why you are choosing to use plywood? Weight will start to add up once you get started. A tube frame would lighten and then attach the aluminum panels to that for the outer skin would be ideal. Just a thought. :D

Thanks Guys!

I need to get started on this again,

it is a shame to see the frame just sitting there.

Thank you for the suggestions.
