Help with xxtcr rebuild and restoration
Hi .
Guys
Got my hands on a xxtcr with some spare new parts .
Got some stuff coming from eBay . To do this truck up .
Now , question . I see a lot of xxt's for sale and they brake the rear gear box where it
Screws onto the rear mount . I was woundering if any of you guys have any ideas to reduce
The risk of a braking the gear box . Apart from bad driving . LoL.
I was thinking. when I build it put two thin shock rubber o rings. between the rear mount and the gear box . Then two thin shock o rings between the top of the gear box and the aluminium brace .
And seems as if I need to cut off some of the servo ears too mount the servo in the truck
Any tips . I have an old ko but the eyes don't lay flat . On the chassis . Any tips ?????
Any feed back would be great
Cheers
Mike

Re: Help with xxtcr rebuild and restoration
It is still possible to buy a blue Trinity aluminium chassis brace for the XX / XXT but they are getting harder to find and Dan @ OLDRC .com sells a 3D printed one, http://sabulatech.com/storefront/index.php?id_product=2235&controller=product but failing that, you can always have a go at making one like this.....keyesgood wrote:Hi .

Re: Help with xxtcr rebuild and restoration
Hi
Losi xx kid
I'm from Birmingham uk . Toke a xxtcr to Australia back in 2000 but never ran it Cus the xxx buggy was around and sold the xxtcr and got a xxxt . A while later . So I'd never run the losi xxtcr truck .
Iv got a aluminium brace . I will try a few o ring rubbers . The plan is too run it 3 or 4 times a year . As picked up a good few diff gears . And spares with this find .
I will post some pics as I'm going .
You would not believe it we have re-drilled the cvd pin holes on the cvd . As the original holes are flogged out. Not using a drill press .
Just a vice and a demal . Well we done one cvd hopefully we can do the other baby . Iv got some Mugen 2.5mm pins for the cvd bone end . And a mip cvd kit for the axle end .
Cheers
Mike

Re: Help with xxtcr rebuild and restoration
Very happy with the first. Cvd drive shaft I re drilled .
The original factor holes were floged out .
Just got to do the other shaft as good
We used a #57 for the pilot hole . Then a 1.5mm
To make the hole just smaller the the mip pin size
Your need to add some oil to the hole when drilling
Your also need to work the hole with the 1.5mm drill
To fit the mip pin perfect . I will also paint the cvd shafts black before
Fitting the mip rebuild kit .
Tricky job
This cvd set is for my xxt I'm planning on racing some times .
I also have s shelf queen . Xxtcr
