Novak...no more?

Post by treystoys »

Hey guys...not even sure if this is the right place for this, but it's about electronics non the less. So does anyone have an idea why Novak is out of business? Just very curious, I'm sure like a lot of you the orange brand was what I dreamed of having as an rc addicted youngster, and became my go to brand as I got older. Im guessing it has mostly to do with the flood of decent cheap as dirt electronics now available from around the globe, but thought some of you may have further insight on why after almost 40 years we will lose the Novak brand. Curious to see what others know of the subject.

Here's to Novak!!!

Thanks guys

Trey

Talking to a friend that works in a well known shop, their return rate was high on Novak and they really were never a great brushless speed control from his point of view and compared to other equipment on the market. They were epic in the brushes days for sure

I used to buy mostly Novak stuff up untill the GT7 days (tail end of brushed motors) Unfortunately nothing really excited me much after that and I was never really a fan of the direction Novak took with their brushless stuff.

I assume the same would be true from others, add in the high manufacturing cost of the US and cheap overseas competition.

Its a shame, however once they moved on from the cyclone they just went downhill from there, pity as they had the capability to make the best but opted to go for more profit and less product. Maybe someone can buy the name and build a touch pad like tekin had on their 410k and make a brushless esc capable of 400-500amps with boost and turbo all easily controlled by the keypad. Then maybe theyd out sell everyone

And it's never going to change while we continue to have such garbage choices in politicians.

I will miss Novak.. Most of the cars I have use some type of Novak speed control... but these are brushed ESC's... I do have one brushless GTB with a 3.5T motor..
