Battery cup options

Are there any options for the front battery cup? The stock one works but it's an extremely tight fit. It's also a bit tall and interfering with my hardcase LiPo. I may just get a stock replacement and cut it down but was wondering if there were aftermarket options.

the re-release cars supposedly have slightly different cups now that fit lipo's better.

however, it's mostly in the fact that they pushed the mounting holes slightly in the chassis, and the bulkhead is adjusted somewhat. So maybe the cup isn't different.

there are a couple others that have been working on different shorty lipo 'trays' if you will, it's not clear in my head who it is though right now.

also not sure if the hole spacing is the same, but I used these in a custom clodbuster chassis with a hard case lipo and it fits great:

I have a lipo tray for shorties, you can mount it either direction and fits any rc10 pan. It takes up a lot of room on the chassis to give that adjustability tho. It's easier to remove the bottom out of the bulkhead or use a rere bulkhead, and cut the cup if needed

I probably should have been a bit clearer. The LiPo I have is a full size 5200mah hardcase. It fits in the rear bulkhead fine and with a little persuading gets into the front cup. The servo is right up against the cup, actually deforming it slightly. That's something I seem to remember being an issue with my original one but I thought with the trimmed (triangular noseplate) it might move it up slightly.

Since I wasn't paying attention when I was installing the servo I didn't notice one of the screws for the servo was a bit long and I managed to strip the lower part of the threads. I'm ordering the FT mounts tomorrow since the LHS stocks nothing AE except shock oil. That might help out enough to have it not so tight.

I do like some of those printed mounts. Reminds me of the mount for the JRX2.

They bolt into the stock holes and allow 3 different mounting locations to adjust your weight distribution, while having a stock look to them.

I have a related question,

is there a battery cup out there that will be high enough when mounted upside down so it can double as a ESC shelf in the rear? The shapeways one looks promising but not sure on that one.

I need that for both of my mid motor conversions, RC10 graphite and Traxxas Rad2.

they should work just fine in that application if you are able to get a battery strap across the top in the normal position. Worst case, you need to stuff a few aluminum washers under the cup before tightening it down. They are pretty long too, so you might actually have to trim it back so you can sneak the pack under.

With the modern hard case LiPos it definitely is not a direct fit. The washer is the obvious solution, I did not try that yet, I am also aware of the need to shorten the cup, BUT I believe the cup "balancing" on just 2 washers with an ESC on top is going to be an unstable setup as long as no battery is present. I also don't really like the resulting gap around the bottom. I guess it try and tell time.
