brushed crawler motor to put in RC for Kids

Hi,
Atomik RC has motors all the way up to 60T I believe, I am trying to get 2 of my cars slow enough for my kids. Does anyone know how many turns the classic 540 can has, I just need an approximate and will go from there. Kids are almost 4 and 5.

I only have pretty fast setups, and this seems the cheapest way for me to go, maybe a 380 motor but then I need some kind of adapter plate.

The kids will be driving either RC10s or Traxxas / Graupner RAD2 / Readicator experts.

I want to avoid going too slow, so I was considering the 45T Traxxas crawler motor, or something from the ATOMIK range. I am open for suggestions.

OK, so the 540s are 27T, found out as much via google, so I am thinking about motors around 40 - 60 Ts, I can compensate a bit with gearing.

Again 3 years and 9 months and 5 y 3m, old children. These cans are all cheap enough, just want the right one.

i put a crawler motor in a lunchbox for my boys, 6 and 8 now. it was quicker than I thought it might be, but still slow enough that they easily controlled it. maybe 35T? I forget exactly.

but you are on the right track. i'd probably go something like 45T. they have a lot of torque, so they will have a pretty 'quick' attitude from a standstill but then just don't accelerate much.

Another route to go would be if you had some old ni-mh packs you could make 5 or 4 cell packs. I did this with my first brushless system to mellow it out.

I made the mistake of buying my 5 year old son a Turnigy Rally Extreme 1/16 scale brushless car thinking it would be a good entry level car. It was like $100 all told from hobby king at the time. Out of the box the esc was dead so I had a mamba micro that I swapped in and we went outside to try it. The only battery I had small enough was a 3s lipo that would fit(mistake #2). I tried to limit the speed with a series of rubber bands on the transmitter making it harder for him to push full throttle which I felt was a brilliant idea at the time... I live in a private circular court which is pretty wide open so I wasn't too worried about traffic. After a quick tutorial from dad He proceeded to take the controls and send this thing full bore into a neighbors retaining wall. Ironically the only thing salvageable was my mamba micro esc....so im thinking a crawler motor would be a great idea for the next one.
