Re: Kyosho re releases
I doubt that you will see a progress or any of the earlier cars than the optima series. I do suspect we will see a javelin. From there, it is hard to say

Re: Kyosho re releases
I also doubt they'll re-release either of those cars, they weren't very popular back in the day. It would be quite easy for them to remanufacture the Javelin roll-cage parts because the rest of the chassis is the same as the Optima. I would guess if they were to re-re another car, it could be the Ultima.

Re: Kyosho re releases
I would pay good money for a progress gallop rere. Still contemplating an optima,, but just not feelin it. I thought itd be a must have, but so far.... oooh idea!
Re: Kyosho re releases
yep a javellin would be awesome. Ill take one of those no probs
Im curious to know why they wouldn't do a progress or a gallop though. I say this because (and i don't know for sure) but what was the scorpion based on , or the beetle or the towahawk.... weren't they all one offs, so couldnt the gallop mk 2 or progress be a possibility.

Re: Kyosho re releases
They weren't iconic, and the timeline is already past- usually rereleased cars are in an order (it's not a rule but usually followed. Tamiya just broke it with the Blackfoot). For the same reason I doubt we would see any earlier kits than the optima we have now. I don't know about an Ultima, it could happen but I wouldn't even hold my breath on it- and it was iconic (although mostly trickery! The car we got was nothing like the car that won the world champs!)

Re: Kyosho re releases
Since it's Kogawa doing the re-release work for Kyosho I find re-releases of the Gallop and Progress to be very unlikely, as they were designed by Hino & Tsuno. Not impossible, of course, just very unlikely. The Ultima and the Mid platforms are more likely, as they are also Kogawas creations, just like the Scorpion and Optima platforms.

Keep buying the re-re's and the chances for more models being re-re'd will only improve!

Re: Kyosho re releases
I'd love to see the Ultima (original, Turbo, Pro, or SE) make another run...
It'd be great to at least have a reasonably priced aluminum or graphite chassis again. (for random projects and resto's)

Re: Kyosho re releases
I sent an email to kyosho begging for them to at least release the Javelin roll cage as an accessory to the Optima!
I would also buy a re-re original Ultima immediately!

Re: Kyosho re releases
I think another aspect would be how much mileage they can get out of the rerelease
With the Optima platform they can do various variants without too many wholesale changes
Ditto for the mid and to a lesser extent the Ultima.
And all the variants are marketable.
I wonder where it will stop, I can't see them doing a rerelease of the original Lazer ZX or subsequent ZXR variants, what are everyone else's thoughts?
Also, which is the Kyosho FB page I need to be following?

Re: Kyosho re releases
I am really hoping for a Javelin rollcage and the Ultima. I wonder if they will do Turbo variants for the Optima and Ultima?
