Kyosho Outrage ST Modifications?
Hey Guys,
Ok first off Im not a Kyosho guy so my knowledge of the vehicles is zilch. I am looking at building up an outrage ST and was wondering what you guys know of as weak points etc for the truck. I know the shocks are being replaced already, but any tips, tricks, insight etc would be greatly appreciated. Hoping to run in a local vintage class with this.
Thanks again!

Ok so along these lines, did the Outrage ST use the same gear set as an ultima? Basicly trying to figure out all the design connections here.

Re: Kyosho Outrage ST Modifications?
Thanks!! I remember these things being noisy enough to wake the dead, so I like that option. I found a spare set of suspension arms for $5 so I picked them up. Not settled on shocks yet, so many to pick from. Bearing set of course and a full set of turnbuckles. Im figuring on leaving the mechanical speed control in the box and using a Novak GT7 with a Yokomo 13 turn thats been a shelf queen. Does anyone know of any modern bodies that fit? Kind of hate to paint the original to race it.
Thanks again!!
Thanks again!!

The dead must be light sleepers then
A std. Ultima transmission doesn´t make much noise, perhaps it was paired against a diametral pitch pinion or a worn soft aluminum pinion.

Ha who knows, it was not my truck but a fellows I ran against. Compared to my AE stealth his Outrage sounded awful.
Any suggestions on a good set of shocks that will fit the period look?

Re: Kyosho Outrage ST Modifications?
You are probably right on that. I only had a sample of one to judge. I have come into conflicting ideas on if the Re Re 2016 optima gears can be made to fit the older optima/ultima. Im going to put in a new post just about that. I will try to find a set of kyosho gold shocks. Is there a shock tower upgrade by chance? The stock Outrage ST ones look a bit whimpy.

Re: Kyosho Outrage ST Modifications?
Ok Got it all thanks!! Ok good knowledge dump there! Ok on to one final question before I tear into this thing. This is an unbuilt kit still new in the box. I assume that there is not much value to it and nobody will shed a tear If I cut open the plastic bags and build it right? If I am incorrect in this please let me know as I would hate to destroy something of value.
