Re: Optima is back!!
put another way, you can say that the nut bottomed out on the threads before the wheel was brought up tight by the nut.
your english is by far better than any other language I would attempt to speak or type. English is just weird and complicated.

Re: Optima is back!!
Thank you, those look very cool. I can only find them through Kyosho and shipping is $11 for 4 sets. Yikes. I still have to get one of these before I order them but now I know where to find them.egalsim wrote:

"Yikes"? You're complaining about $11 shipping? You probably can't even blow a fart across the border from US to CAN for $11. That's a great shipping price on 4 sets!joeman37 wrote:I can only find them through Kyosho and shipping is $11 for 4 sets. Yikes.

I am old and that seems pricey for a package that weighs less than a pound! It won't stop me from ordering...it will just make me cranky.Coelacanth wrote:"Yikes"? Re: Optima is back!!
Kyosho America offers free shipping deals every so often, at least I think I remember getting emails from them to that effect. I've never needed anything at those times- it's usually like a holiday or something.

Re: Optima is back!!
Hi guys. Im building an original optima, and wondering if some new optima parts will fit and work. Im concerned about the rear diff cases, specifically the belt drive parts. Will they fit in an original? Is the gear and belt pitch the same? Of course my gear half of the rear diff is worn out,, and regular chain drive parts will not fit the belt half of the rear diff.
So has anybody tried to put new optima drive into an old optima?

Re: Optima is back!!
For those who want to race, or even drive in anger at practice sessions, realize the Optima is a very delicate machine. Things bend and break a lot easier than modern cars. Heck, they bend and break more the even an old RC10. I've already bent the rear shock tower, broke a caster block, mashed the engine "protector" (yeah right), stripped out a hub carrier, etc. And I've only had it out a couple times. I got two, and have pulled a bunch off the second to keep the first one going. I need to tally it up, and replace the parts from the other kit.Coelacanth wrote:Those of you planning to race your Optimas might consider adding wings; from what I recall, the Optima tended to land front-down more often than not, which would be an even bigger issue with the much larger jumps on modern tracks.

Just ordered one! Tower eCash came back so $255 shipped plus $30 in Tower Cash that I will use towards a Tomahawk. I have been a little late to the Kyosho Re-re show and need to catch up!
