I don't even drive a lot, but I broke a bunch of axles that had holes (Tamiya, outrage, losi etc) but never an OT-18!

Same as the zx, cast and yup im having a few if they are.HKS_TRD wrote:I see the alloy OT-16 front knuckle arm has returned.
Going by the pic it appears to be cast and not machined.
Can't they release these already!

Re: Optima is back!!
That's the stupidest way to attach a wheel I've ever seen on any of my vehicles. It's just a press fit. When you accidentally overtighten them a few times, the hole in the aluminum gets bigger, and it starts to rub on the bearing block. Also, as someone mentioned, they can be a pain to get off. Like I said, it's just a stupid idea, when there are other vastly superior ways to attach a wheel.DennisM wrote:Why garbage?yellowdatsun wrote:There's no pics of the axles *without* the aluminum hex on there. I do see a set screw, so I'm REALLY hoping these aren't those press fit pieces of garbage.
I never had one come loose
I'm extremely pleased they got rid of it.

Re: Optima is back!!
Well, the tapered shaft was common back then, the only downside in my opinion, was that You were limited to 12mm hex wheels, unless You bought the Yoke adapters.
The crosspin wheels or hex can cause a wobley wheel when riding on the crosspin - and are prone to overtightening.
I tighten over a cople of bronze bushing to seat the hex before I put the wheels on, and will mean that You´ll need something bigger than a std. tamiya key to overtighten the hexes

Re: Optima is back!!
Use a wide screwdriver and the tapered hexes will pop right off. They're only a problem if you have a powerful motor and a high grip surface. Two things you'll probably never expose an Optima re-re to...
I think it's cool that they're re-releasing this kit, although I honestly doubt I'll buy one myself (I have enough stuff). I'd love if they re-released the Pro-X at some point. It would slot perfectly into the same market that the RC10 Worlds re-re is tapping into.

You are correct. That is the listed preorder price. Available March 31. I just preordered mineGoMachV wrote:I'm hearing a street price of 299

It looks like the bumper is mounted differently. Hopefully no more bent or snapped front support.
