Re: help.XX4 rear pivot blocks breaking every race.
I just ordered some of these hoping I can make them fit,
http://www.modelflight.com.au/tlr-rear-pivot-block-4-degree-alum-xxx-sct-cr-tcr.html?utm_source=Ebay&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Ebay
Supposed to be for the XXX.They were on sale for $6.99 each so cheap enough.

remove the braces and they should bolt directly on. I've thought of buying these many times, but the 4deg toe keeps stopping me. You can still buy the plastic versions from Losi, which if I recall properly have the 3deg option.
Post they fit without issue or not! For that price, its worth having this option in your parts box.
Speed-T blocks require a little moding since it narrows the rear pivot ~3mm per side - similar to the 22-4.

They fit! Its a good fix for a chassis with broken bumper holes too as the hinge pin on the XXX alum block is fixed in place with grub screws.
Heres a pic of one I mocked on a broken chassis, not sure if its best to remove some of the chassis like in the pic or cut away both cross braces on the block, what do you guys think?

I like the idea of taking a little chassis so you can slide the brace in and leave the rear brace cross tie like in the writeup above. Just seems that it would be just stronger in the long run. Now if you didn't like the idea of the angles of the new pod then I guess trying to take both cross ties off might make it easier to 'alter' the angles...

I agree,Ill just remove some of the chassis.Looking forward to seeing how the 4 degree toe in will work on the track. Will report back after some track time.

You wont be happy bending a hinge pin inside that aluminum suspension mount (it bends both ends and locks the pin in the mount). Make sure the hinge pin is braced on the outside of the arm too.

True but if that happens Ill belt it out with a hammer and pin punch.I dont think Ill have much luck finding a brace as these alum ones are 4 degree unless I make one or longate a 3 degree one which I think I will try before running it.

Sorry I jumped the gun a bit here, they dont fit as I had hoped
,like Beau S said they are too narrow like the speed T ones,Oh well just got my plastic ones from OLDRC,that was super quick shipping, atleast I can run them untill I can get some GPM ones.

Those are the blocks that would be used for the reversible rear-end mod..vintage racer wrote:Sorry I jumped the gun a bit here, they dont fit as I had hoped, like Beau S said they are too narrow like the speed T ones,Oh well just got my plastic ones from OLDRC,that was super quick shipping, atleast I can run them untill I can get some GPM ones.
