Got my Mom's 87 Aerocoupe out from its 6 year hibernation. She says she wants to drive it this year, but I have a feeling it will go back up on the lift and not come back down for another couple of years.

Got new hoops for my 55. 17x8 Intro Vista's. Now I just gotta hope I can use them once the car is lowered and the disc brakes are installed. Fingers crossed.

If not, they'll go on my dropped s10.

Thought I would share this.....

The gold 68 442 we build a few year back has gone through a few transformations. When we first built it, it was done in the style of an early 70's street racer.

Then we lowered and modernzed the suspension with Hotchkis and Wilwood stuff.

Now, it has just received an LSA/4L85E swap by a shop called V8 Speed and Resto. Here's a build thread on their forum. The car was close to being finished in it. I'm going up to the guy's shop next week to check it out. He said it's a beast.

Huh.... A big block stroker and it only managed 224 to the wheels, sounds like a bunch of miss-matched parts and an RV cam....

The new engine looks good, a fair bit of cash spent on that car.

The 496 was pulled out and put into a different car after we did the brakes and suspension. He just put in a basically stock 400 afterwards. That's what those guys pulled out.

So I was finally able to bring my 55 up from the pole building and into the garage to get some work done to it. First on the list was to see if my new sneakers would fit on the rear. It took some f'n around, but they're on. They're close to the leaf springs but i think they'll be alright. Hopefully I'll never have to change a flat on the side of the road.

My dad has been making some head way on his Henry J. He's been laid up a good portion of the year due to health issues, but he wanted to at least get the major fab work finished so we could get the body off the frame and get the bottom sandblasted and painted before it gets too cold outside. The frame as well. The frame is done, should have the body done next week and back on the frame.

Got my 2"drop spindle disc brake kit installed, along with 1 1/2" lowering springs.

The day I have been dreading for awhile came today. Doing any kind of paint work on my dad's henry j. 60 year old checked lacquer sucks to paint over. But it's done. Far from perfect, but it's done. Now to get it back on the frame.

Just to point out the whole body wasn't painted, just the firewall, rockers, quarters, and lower body below trunk lid. Also the lower part of both doors and front area of both front fenders. I told him we should just paint the whole damn thing but he said no, we were already doing more than he ever wanted to on it.

How do You remove all the "paintdust" on the roof, for example? polishing?

That's not overspray, just old dead paint. But yes, the rest of the body will get polished up to help match the fresh paint. You can see the difference here between polished and unpolished.

Got the old engine/ trans out of my 55 the other week and got the new stuff dropped in. Nothing is hooked up yet..... just sitting there.
