I've made arrangements to donate my cholesterol to the oil industry.

I figure harvesting cholesterol from dead Americans will be the next big fossil fuel...

Tri Tip Joey? Looks great. Smoked some leg quarters today. Looks like a creepy scene from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre so you know it was good.

Re: What's for dinner?
Actually a cheap ole' chuck roast. Beef prices are a bit out of control lately. When did 85/15 ground beef become the same price as New York strip? Crazy.
Those Chicken quarters look good. Reminds me, I've got a pack sitting in the freezer waiting to be smoked up.

I hear ya Joey. Crazy to pay 3.99 on sale for 80/20 in Evansville. How'd you serve that chuck roast? Curious because I've never grilled one. I've always used the crock pot. Looks great!

Threw some wings in the smoker yesterday for football. Huge advantage of the electric is you can have it up and running in 5 minutes with very little effort. Sauced 'em straight from the smoker.

Re: What's for dinner?
So I am at the store...picking up some leg quarters to smoke (all your fault Thumbs!)....when I see this just begging to be put on the grill

Yep...Turkey breast
It will go good with the legs & thighs (chicken) that are smokin' with it.

Re: What's for dinner?
Seriously tasty! I need to do more turkey.
I have some dry ribs in the oven, rib ends that I have marinated since 5 pm yesterday.
Added some liquid smoke to give it that extra edge. Should be good.

Re: What's for dinner?
Dang Joey you put some serious smoke skills to work on that poultry!
Busy week here so not much interesting food. I did do brats, smoked sausage and fried potatoes and onions Monday though.
A couple of double dongers in there!

Re: What's for dinner?
Chilli, that is whats for dinner.
This is the list of what went into it.
Two veal shanks, bone in. Bottom of the pot on high and crisp em up. Deglaze with some red wine a whole bunch of garlic cloves sliced in half. I use a large stainless steel pot.
Add a cup of beef broth and spices after the wine has been reduced.
One pound each of ground beef and ground pork.
One large red onion, huge bag of any kind of mushrooms you like. I leave em whole and slice some to add texture/size. Chopped celery, more garlic.
Fresh ground black pepper, cumin, chili flakes, rosemary leaves, celery salt, paprika and whatever other spices you may like.
One can of each:
Sliced black olives, tomatoes that have been sliced for chili, Staggs Dynamite Chili, Staggs Veg chili, Red kidney beans.
I made this a few weeks ago, and it turned out great. Last time I added 3-4 fresh chopped jalapenos, it was great but the GF thought it was to spicy.
