Re: Kyosho Slingshot
Kyosho shorts were called a 3" shock, but not sure if they are measuring eye to eye or ?? If you haven't got an answer I'll try to measure when I am home
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Re: Kyosho Slingshot
It's been a while since I did anything to this. I finally mounted the shocks I got from Dennis and Alex. Thanks guys! I also mounted some spare HPI Vintage wheel sets for the all blacked out look. Now to find a body.

Re: Kyosho Slingshot
The original shocks on mine look like stock Kyosho Gold, bit IIRC, there were spacers on the inside to limit the travel. I bought the kit in Japan, so I can't read the manual to get exact numers.
I think it's been run once in it's life, and has never had a body. I had one, but screwed it up trying to use liquid mask and regular paint.

Re: Kyosho Slingshot
I've used that trick before to get aftermarket shocks to work for my CYANide car (full onroad conversion of Optima). I used a $23 set of 4 3Racing dampers for the Lazer ZX-5 but they were a bit too long. Short 4.8mm ball-cups and spacers inside the shocks helped me get them just right.Wahrsuul wrote:there were spacers on the inside to limit the travel.

Re: Kyosho Slingshot
I have the clips that came with the yellow sport shocks. I left them out so the shock springs don't build up memory while it sits on the shelf.
I tried looking for the gold shocks to keep it all original looking but the cost is not worth it to me. It would be nice, but I like the look of the yellow on black. I did replace the bottom ball end though with the shorter ones to get the arms level.
