I'll post picks as they come. I'm actually sending this to a friend who is building the truck for me in return for favors and custom made parts I send him regularly.
How durable is that coating? I have a guy locally that does Hydro Dipping and I was thinking about getting my chassis done but was unsure as to the strength.

I'm in the same boatd here. I know a guy who's company does it, but wonder about the durability. Plus, if I put on a protective tape-esque covering to protect it, would that peel off with the protective stuff? I would assume yes to that, but don't know for sure.
OORrr, what about having a lexan body dipped? Could you still mask off the windows somehow?

The nearest equivalent we are familiar with to the hydro dipped coating is waterslide decals. The durability is entirely down to the lacquer coating sprayed on top to protect it.
Plenty of companies do the hydro dipping on RC bodies and it looks wild! They just mask the windows before dipping. The coating on hydro dipped chassis is a standard automotive clear coat. I suppose you could clear coat a couple of times for added durability. You can also use a chassis protector and remove it without fear of the dip coming off. I would use a clear molded chassis protector myself. That way you can still enjoy the view of the whole hydro dipped chassis.
A while ago I bought a cut down and cracked graphite chassis off ebay.

I though this was a good change to learn how to do proper carbon fiber repair since I have should have everything needed to do it....

If the stealth holes are drilled and countersunk properly, there's no way to know what it started as. Especially if they countersunk the motor guard holes too.
Thanks. So the chassis blanks are the same and only the pattern that changed.
Place holder for now. Opener to a carbon chassis. working on a buck and a vacuum system to pump out a few or many. Pics to come soon. This will run in tandem with the 4wd interpretation I'm working on. if it works out.

So for future readers. When I got to this step I had a failed pull. Basically no standard paint will work. An epoxy based...

I dont like the way they use the glue on the plastic, that is a disaster waiting to happen. Personally I like to use a small bottle cap.
Also a lot of 1/12 guys like to really round the edges of their chassis so they don't drag on the carpet. This...
im looking at haveing a new chassis made out of carbon fiber but I want it with no cutouts for the cells. I was wondering what people might think about this in terms of stiffness and handling. Has anyone come across one or had one let me...

I didn't think it would make a massive difference as I was going to remove the top deck bracket to help with a bit if flex. I was just trying to tap into the wealth of knowledge on here
