Incredible_Serious wrote:Second was possibly the grimiest SC10 you've ever seen.... there's mud and dirt everywhere, and there's even a little bit of lexan bodyshell holding the gaffer tape together  . Picked up because it came with a bunch of extra gear, including two sets of 2.4 radio, two brushless motors, three brushless ESCs, and a couple of strong-looking servos. I'm guessing I'm not going to get much from the various ESCs, though, judging by the "who let the smoke out" smell wafting about the box....

Update on the SC10: Some good news, some bad news on the electronics front.....

THE GOOD
- Both 2.4G radio sets work fine.
- Both brushless motors work and run, although the Reedy seems a little tired.
- Steering servo mounted in the truck works fine.

THE BAD
- Spare Hitec servo has burned out / shorted leads
- Associated ESC turns on, but has the motor wires chopped off.

THE UGLY
- HPI ESC is unresponsive (no lights, no power), will look at it's connections as it's sealed.
- The Castle Cremations ESC is dead... not just burnt out, but TOASTED.

As for the truck itself, the diff seems to work, all the steering seems to work, so it may just need a clean and a new ESC - fingers crossed!!!

A TON of misc items in 4 tackle boxes and a big plastic bag...some newer stuff like Stampede, Rustler, and Maxx stuff; some older, like brushed motors, esc's, shocks and shock kits, etc. 3 bodies, probably 30 or so tires/wheels, bunch of various shock oils, batteries, chargers, some XMod stuff (doesn't do me any good - don't have any of those), bearings, receivers, waterproof servos, and a whole mess of general screws, nuts, and other hardware that's always good to have around when you need it. Just a total grab bag of stuff. Personally, I love those kinds of hauls, it's like Christmas when you find something cool in there. And it's all the kind of stuff that gets used, so good all around.
Here are the motors from the lot.
All appear used, except maybe the Le Mans 240ST. To me it looks like it was mounted, but maybe never run, or run extremely little. Most are in pretty decent shape, except that on some, whomever soldered the resistors to the cans didn't care about not soldering on (through) the label at that spot...

My latest purchases came in today. Kyosho Side Car, which I didn't even no what it was until after I purchased it, but it looked cool so I bought it. The other two items I didn't need, but the seller gave me a good price are a cox chopper that needs rear wheels and the other is a cox dragster missing the body.

Something in particular you were after, or just a big pile of cars in general? Let me know

I've been out of the buying world for a while but I got a text from a friend at the flea market saying there was a tub of old cars for $40. I figured what the heck and had him pick it up. Here are the hobby grade cars I kept. Threw away the toy stuff.

Image

The three in the front row I'm not sure the actual model. Far left is a Tamiya. Far right a Kyosho. The one in the middle I have no clue.

The Kyosho looks like a Pegasus. The far left Tamiya looks like a Fox but maybe some mods done to the front end? Not sure about the middle one.
