Matt Azzara ( Associated Driver ) EARLY ASSOCIATED /REEDY MOTORS
O.k. I want to ask everyone help put a Electric Motor Timeline for Associated and Reedy Motors. I am going to take an educated guess at what I think the timeline might be from earliest to newest, and please tell me if I am wrong or any of your memories from early Reedy / Associated Electric Motors. I think Matt may have got all of these from Mike Reedy.
1. Revtech Motors Race Supplied
2. Neal McCurdy Modified painted blue can & not sure on the blue and red stripe maybe early Reedy Modified Motors
3. Red label with 05
4. Yellow label Associated (Not Bubble Letters)
5.Yellow label with Bubble Letter Reedy logo NEW AE Logo
Please Lets here from all the early Associated Reedy Cohorts, and Team Drivers from 1978 until 84 I think this is when these are from

Re: Early Associated & Mike Reedy Modified Motors
The blue endbell motors are the earliest. Translucent, black etc. endbells came out after the blue. But Reedy continued to use blue endbells until the Yokomo-based motors came out in 1982, so you have to look at the labels to try to figure out the age of the motor.
The earliest Reedy motors are the ones that have an Associated 05 label with the "Reedy Modified" label over it. Those were before before Reedy started to work as an employee for Associated. Once he started working for AE they made the labels that have AE and Reedy, no extra Reedy label was needed after that. I think the bubble letter Reedy logo is newer than the block letter version.

Some NICE pieces of RC History right there... Kudos and hope they are on display at the Golden Year's RC Museum which I would love to visit one day...
