The car is almost done I just have to order some tires and a body

I finally decided not to use the Thorp turnbuckles and Factory Works battery strap I'm very happy with the result it's my favourite built right now

Hi “Vale” lovely vintage project. I am really inspired by the photos. Want to build one by myself but due to lack of time, I decide to buy a ready made one. I searched the internet and found some buggies at reasonable cost at http://www.thehobbyworx.com/rc-cars/electric-cars/buggy.html , lots of options here. Bit confused which one to get. Any idea lads? Personally I like to go for Vortex1:10 Scale 4WD electric buggy. This buggy has a powerful 540 motor and 7.4V 2000 mAh battery. It almost look identical to the RC10 but well with in budget.

Yes, it's part of the A&L conversion kit

No, it's also part of the A&L conversion kit but you can still buy these parts separately

I found more stuff for this project and I'm very close to the final result.

I got a Intruder body (tbg repro) but it's too modern for this car in my opinion, it would not harmonize with it lol So I will go for a protech body

If being period correct is important then ~2" one-piece wheels would be a more harmonious fit too.

You'd also have to save the Factory Works battery brace for another project.

Jelly bean wheels on the front and on the rear were my first idea...but I think it will look pretty cool with the 1.5 on the front and knobbies, like Jammins car

No, no worries, I'm not going to use the works battery strap on this one. It's not period correct and it does not look very good because the battery cup is not aligned with the rear bulkhead.

The tires finally arrived. So I swapped the original front axles by CRP axles, which allow to use these 1.5" Proline wheels for Tamiya Rough Rider most of you will recognise these wheels

The Protech body arrived too, so it will be painted in near future

Looks great Daniel! Love the old school tired and wheels and the fact that you with full vintage parts!

The spur gear you used is way too small and is supposed to be used for the RC12 by the way.

Concerning the spur gear: I know, you're right I didn't use it. Still has a 48p spur gear on it till I can find a correct one
