haven't tried the tulip, but I can tell you that the standard clothing dylon stuff sold in craft stores does not dye the nylon parts at all.

There is a company called Dylon that produces fabric dyes, not sure if these will work tho?

Tulip won't work for nylon and Dylon won't work that good either for nylon parts. Rit and the old school dyes made for RC is the only stuff I've gotten to work with my experience around my area.

Yeah, you need to be sure it works on Nylon. The std natural fiber clothing dyes will not work. I have yet to find a Fluorescent dye that works with nylon. Most of the dyes from yesteryear are no longer available due to epa regualtions. If anybody has some of the old Litespeed Fluorescent they want to get rid of, please let me know! I have some worlds parts to restore :) . -Jeff

Not to dredge, but I have several packages of the Dylon in the BST right now if anyone is still looking. Presently there are 2 of the hot pinks left.

#200 standard blue, yellow and red/pink (like scr8p's)
#201 fluorescents (hot pink and hot yellow)

I do know that Fuchisa and petal pink are in stores, just saw them at Krogers. They are close to hot pick.
Rit dyes are not widely available over here in the UK - I've been buying it on Ebay from needlework suppliers.

Rit Fuscia will definately give you a very bright 'hot' pink... but be warned (I learned the hard way) DO a couple of test runs with different mixes & keep an eye on the length of time your test peices are in for... for my Yokomo wheels I used what I now know was a rather 'strong' mix of dye/water, just 20sec would have probably given me the colour I needed, a further 20 seconds would have given me super bright pink.... I left them in even longer & got an almost red/magenta colour :|

You can boil the colour out, i know as I have the original pink wheels. I boiled them to get the glued tires off with some Losi 5 spoke neon yellows in the boiling pot too. The Losi 5 spokes ended up turning orange because of the pink dye releasing from the pink Yokomo wheels. The Yokomos are now a slightly sun faded looking pink.

Just FYI all my Hot Pink #201 has left the building. There's still plenty of Hot Yellow and standard colors.

Good to know fakiee. I might have to try that... been looking for sun faded pink.

I'm yer huckleberry  just got my pound of neon yellow and pound of neon pink. Ive only tried the pink so far, first with .35oz to a quart (this is lightspeeds mix ratio) , then the same with 2 quarts of water. It's brighter than the rit pink and looks much better.... But I still don't think it's as bright as the Dylon. Can anyone post up pics of the Dylon florescent pink? The only one I see is Ltodave's and the wheels look more purple than pink?

Top row is two quarts water and 10 minutes at boil
Bottom row is one quart water and 10 minutes boil

Also note worlds stealth case is not really white to start with

I'll try the yellow over the weekend

Hmmm...a pink and purple build???

Two of my re-re white wheels are a little darker and a bit purple compared to the other two. But I only had room in the pot for two at a time and some of the leftover black dye must have came out of the metal for the first batch.

I'm curious to what the other pink dyes look like.

Litespeed did indeed make fluro dye back in the day. I used it on my 12LW which great results! I also had good results with the Dylon fabric dyes but only with the associated nylon as it seemed to penetrate better.
