Decisions..... decisions. Which one to i keep for my BB or do I sell them to someone with a shelf queen.....
I forgot I had such nice motors in the BB! I thought it was the low end 240ST as i couldn't see the label when it was in the truck but when I removed it it turned out it was a 240SB! Cannot wait for it with a LIPO and lighter tires! The tires must be almost half the weight. Back in the day the BB would eat batteries.... i was always disappointed with run times.
Spent 2 hours leaning up and getting my BB ready but it still needs several more hours and new tires and wheels. Can't wait!
Do you guys still use silicone grease like the manual says or is these something else that is as good or better for gears and other things that need lube?
Also, it has a 15t pinion. With the smaller tires they will be around 125mm in diameter vs 135 mm for the stockers I was thinking I may need a different pinion. I was thinking like a 17 or 18t. Any thoughts.

Not an expert...but I wouldn't start out with the "S" since this is a truck. Associated has some silicone lube that was inexpensive for the RC10 stealth I remember using just a few years ago. I have some left that I think I will put in my BB when I can finally get to building. I can get a part number for you if you want.
There is a guy in another thread that you can give gear teeth numbers to and he can give an educated idea on a suggested pinion. Will post a link as soon as I run across the thread again. I am going to gear for torque I think. Lowest I could find in my parts was a 13T. The parts list shows they shipped with 15t pinion (page 21). The last page (22) and few lines of the same in the manual suggest 12t for "high torque" 13T for "high torque speed" and 14T for "high speed low torque." Maybe some suggested starting points. But, as you mentioned, changing the tires size kinda' nullifies the text book. Also, it shows a 360PT and a 360 Gold under "Optional Parts List."
I can't wait to start building!

But seriously... Although not hot by late brushed motor technology, they are fairly hot for the BB. I'd look for something torquey...like the 360st or 360pt personally. They are longer 550 cans and gobs of torque

I used to run the stock Le Mans 05. Nice and slow for bombing around the backyard.
