I don't have a monster collection but I don't get rid of anything. Unless it is actually broken. And it has to be REALLY broken. Plenty of a-arms have gone to the trash. Along with a destroyed body or two.
But I kept all of my used on-road tires. They were great for bashing around. Especially when testing new electronics or battery packs. No reason to ruin good tires.
And i have the obligatory containers of screws, clips, parts, etc.

Not sure about the tires. I would wash them with a decent detergent and then spray them with some silicone. You could leave those in the box with the scent absorbers as well.
