I can't afford the battery pack for this heli....

Post by GoMachV »

I can't believe how far the battery and motor technology has come. The sheer power and lightness is incredible. The "field" quick charger he uses was $2k by the time he bought a capable generator. I can't even afford the battery pack in this beast lol!

What kind of heli is it? Does it use a 6S? Looks awesome!

Trex-700.. They fly on 12S.. 2 x 6S-5000MAH packs in series.

I have a 12S setup I was going to use in a 27% cap 232 with a Neu 1521 1.5y 6.7 and Castle HV110 ESC.
The 6S 5k packs are about $70 each form HK.
I sold the plane so the ESC ad motor just sits in a drawer now.
The packs have sat for a few years now.. probably no good now.

I did entertain an evil thought about bolting it into the MGT I'm building for some stupid fun.

This is that setup on 8S with a 24" Byron 4 blade prop. I had to keep a foot on the work bench to keep it form pulling it over.. POWA.. love it..

I wasn't sure if I was watching a giant dragonfly after doing a speedball or a helicopter caught in a f1 twister. Silly if you ask me.
