New mods for the old gold pan

Post by gumbajv »

I've been doing a bunch of up dates and mods to my old neglected gold pan. It all started when the original motor gave up. Bought a few suspension pieces from DHawk racing, The rear aluminum control arms have adjustable toe, front aluminum control arms, 1 pc aluminum dullie wheels & extended axles. Various aluminum wheels & tire combinations. Rebuilt the shocks, replaced the rod ends, soft springs, removable aluminum spring cup so you can change the springs without removing the rod ends, and mounted the shocks inverted for easier access. Speed Passion 3500kv motor & esc, Replaced the trans internals, Robinson Racing spur & pinion gear. Still have a few more things to replace.

Those suspension arms look nice. Did you make them?

That looks awesome with the dual tires in the rear and very impressive work on the arms! Nice paint job on the body too and that is the first time I have seen the shocks inverted. 8)

Inboard shocks & other stuff

Post by gumbajv »

I decided to go a little further with the cantilever shocks idea. Also mounted a Spectrum 5060 mini servo in front of the bulkhead for a little more nose weight.

The body looks cool with the clear sections so you can see the shocks. Nice touch and I love it! :D

How did I miss this thread?!

That looks like something from the Reader's Rides section of a 90's RCCA magazine...very well done! :D
