White Andy's Arms

Post by MAC10 »

I am rebuilding an old RC10 that has a pair of white front Andy's arms. I also located a pair of white rears to go with them. Does anybody know if these can be whitened up with the peroxide and UV trick? Not a huge deal but the pairs don't quite match and the rears are a bit yellowed. I know I' ve read in an old thread not to do this with RPM arms but has anybody tried the Andy's? Thanks in advance!

andy's and rpm will probably do the same thing in peroxide. I would just soak in some simple green or something similar and scrub with a brush, and will probably be the best it can get.

Ok, so some good ol dish soap and some scrubbing cleaned them up pretty well but now I can see the front & rears are maybe a different kind of nylon / plastic? So I guess I'll have to live with it or go with black arms that are more available.

Let me guess one pair is like a solid bone white and the other pair is more translucent with a greenish twinge. The translucent like ones are rpm.

Looks like you're on top of it! They are both marked Andy's so I guess RPM made them for Andy's at some point? Probably old news for you I'm guessing. Thanks for the info, I may just use them since I know there's a reason behind the difference and its a runner anyways.
