From Illinois to Orange County...

Post by mk-Zero »

By way of Puerto Rico?

I can't imagine how this makes sense. I ordered a toy for my son off ebay which was located in the Chicago area. All was good, following the shipping through USPS, expected delivery Monday (today). Then, to my surprise, yesterday I get an email update that it had arrived in San Juan. Latest update is that it left that facility at 130 last night. Somehow I don't think I'm getting it today

Anyone else see screwy shipping like that?

Yeah I had one last week that showed "undeliverable at this address" in California. I'm in Oregon. The eBay seller used the regular shipping label that clearly said Oregon.

And they wonder why we though government run health care was a bad idea lol

I wonder if it might have anything to do with eBay's infamous Global Shipping Program redirecting packages to Pitney-Bowes for supposed repackaging for Customs...probably shouldn't happen for packages sent/received within USA, but I would NOT be surprised one bit.

I'm kind of assuming it was a mistake. Seems to me like they would lose money shipping that far out of the way. Usually I have really good luck and quick deliveries through USPS. Certainly never had a domestic package routed through a foreign country, lol.

By the way, the item is White Shadow and Smoove Moove racers from the movie Turbo. My 4yo is totally into that movie right now.

Not that it's relevant, but one of the few times I never received a package shipped from eBay was from Puerto Rico (shifter for my Charger). I snagged it at a great price and really needed it. The seller refunded me so I had no issue with him...it just vanished into that shipping Twilight Zone, never to be heard from again.

Yeah, I'm starting to feel like it's never going to be seen again... On ebay it says the expected delivery is today, but USPS still says yesterday, and it's been two and a half days since any status update...

Last week I had a package being shipped to me (in Long Beach) that said "out for delivery" in LA the day it was supposed to arrive. The status changed to "Delivery status not updated" and it stayed like that until it magically appeared at my house 3 days later. :?

Granted it was just LA, and not all the way over to PR, but don't give up hope yet! It will probably arrive in another day or two. Who knows what those knuckleheads at USPS are doing...

Packages from Illinois took 2 weeks to arrive in Australia under the old system. Now they take a month !! Go figure.

Well, at least it got there. I sent a package to Australia (from Illinois) and we're guessing that it's lost. Sent out in mid June and still not there :(
