Tower Hobbies behavior
I am getting ready to order some things from Tower. They are offering $25 off for orders over $200. Would it be wrong for me to place several $200 orders instead of one large order? They have not sent me gold promos in a while so this would save me the most money.

Lol. Have not figured it all out yet. The car will be the biggest portion. I just need to figure out which one I want to get. I am leaning toward the Hyper 8 but the RC8 looks good too.Erich Reichert wrote:Short of cars what the hell are you ordering! lol
I wanted to go with the 5B but my brother wants to start racing locally and like he said, that car is just too big for local tracks.

Re: Tower Hobbies behavior
Well, I get the international ones through, and they state "Please, only one promotional ad number per order"
which makes me think it will work as often as I want. Obviously with International shipping multiple orders is not really an option, cost wise.
Not to Hi-jack the thread, but I am putting together a Tower order from the UK, so if any UK guys want some small bits not worth ordering separately, let me know

Then let me help you out. I need a Hi Lift, and two full on JPS chassis and gearbox set-ups for my clods. That should help break at least one $200 goal.Tadracket wrote:Lol. Have not figured it all out yet.Erich Reichert wrote:Short of cars what the hell are you ordering! lol

They make plenty of money, I think they could absorb your $25 per 200 quite a few times over.

Re: Tower Hobbies behavior
I just did this last week. By combining the special offer and the super saver discounts, I got an LRP Z28R spec3 truggy motor with a couple extra plugs for $170 shipped priority. Then, a "scratch and dent" FM 3PKS for $220 shipped regular ground/free with super saver club. I plan on doing it again next week to place a large order of small items I've been putting off for a while, and then another order for the Fasst system for the 3PKS.
If your not allready a super saver club member, join on your first order, it is effective immediately, so you will get free regular shipping on that order, when you add the cost ($14.99) of SSC it works out to about the same as just paying regular shipping. Once you are a member of the SSC regular shipping is free on all orders over $150, so your next order will have free shipping and whatever special offer you use. Also, if you want something shipped priority or express they still take $8.99 off the price of that to cover your free regular shipping. Not to mention you get first crack at the "scratch and dent" items.
One more thing. Check http://www.retailmenot.com/view/towerhobbies.com for the latest greatest special offers from Tower.
I spend so much $$$ on R/C stuff, I have to take advantage of every oppertunity to save. It's not like Tower is loosing money by us doing this, they are the ones putting these offers out there.
