RC10 Andy's / 80's Tribute, "Radically" Modified Box Art...

Post by UltraHIVE »

Hey guys, I'm almost done with this one. I tried a few new techniques both on the paint and decal printing. It came out different then what I expected, but I couldn't have imagined it any better. Still have to create the window nets, and I might do a driver figure to match. Will post more progress pics as I go, but let me know what you think. Enjoy! :D

thanks guys. once these are completed, I will post them in the bst section, and start on new paint schemes. I found a pic online of a blue viper body, with orange and white stripes, and #4 decals that I really like. that will be next after I finish these, and a Porkchop Express tribute SC10 :)

thanks dude. i really need a schedule, too much time between posting.

i used a few different sized brushes and just played around really. i should really practice before starting next time ;) the splats in blue are printed into the decals, chrome ink splats with trans blue ink overlay.

also, the camera doesnt pickup the colors properly. the sides are faded from a faint white, into neon / flourescent orange, into a mixed "goldpan" color. the neon orange color makes it pop in person, looks more like an Andy's fade.

Also working on bolt-on lexan window nets for the Protech bodies, using the same tiny button socket head screws, used in the idler gears of a 6 gear trans. These will mount from the inside, and will use a lexan screw template that matches the screw holes on the nets themselves. the prototype looks great so far...

Your work is just fantastic. It almost sounds like you're going to do the Team Car manual paint job? This car?:

I was planning on attempting this ^ paint job on my next team car but I'm sure it won't look half as good!

Looking forward to your next paint job!
