My dad had been working on the new rear suspension on ole henry the last couple days. Making new brackets and mounts to install the new leaf springs. Just got it to the point of no return..... radiusing tbe wheel wells. Just a rough cut for now to get the slicks on it.
The front is cartoonishly high right now, but its only temporary until tbe engine comes back from the builder. Then we'll work on getting that weight in it and work on ride height.
ya, it was a parts car i found locally. other than 2 of the body mount braces (and a couple little pin holes we had to weld up, the whole trunk floor, and inner/outer wheel wells were solid. everything is bad on the 66 ss we're doing do to being hit hard at some point in time, and rust. it was easier using an entire original than it would've been piecing together a bunch of aftermarket stuff (and making it all fit). a lot less welding too.
the 66 is getting 2 full quarters and a new rear valance, so it was easy to install the donor floor and wheel wells in one piece as you see in the previous pic.
My dad had a hot nut to replace the side glass on his Henry J with colored plexiglass glass. Fairly standard practice back in the day. I wanted him to use green, but he couldn't get yellow out of his head because he couldn't remember seeing green back then. It's not too bad, I guess ill get used to it.
he came close to doing an early chevy II, but then he found that henry j. no more chevy II.
this is where i ordered the plastic. they have the green. but since he only remembers seeing red and yellow at the track back in the 60's, had to use yellow. couldn't go with red, it would be like Christmas 24/7.
nah, first time i've seen that. pretty cool too. those door panels look sweet. my dad actually got done making/installing his today. nothing to the extent of those....... just a little bit of bead rolling so they weren't just a flat piece of aluminum.
Both my dad's (in-law included) as well as my uncle built street dragsters. I live in a small place by the beach..so I got little teeny cars in my shop. All I can fit.
There comes a time in every young man's life when they need some bump in the trunk. So I pulled my kid's car into the audio install bay and we went at it.
New pioneer touchscreen with dvd, hifonics 1,100 watt amp, and 2 alpines 12's. Now he's good to go for a little while..... until he wants to upgrade the interior speakers anyway. The sub box is only temporary, I plan on custom building a new box when it gets nicer outside. Thats why i didn't get crazy routing the amp wires cleanly. The amp is gonna get moved again in the next month or two.
maybe do a system down in the spaire wheel well .. i did it on my teg and have 3 amps , x over, cap , battery and 12"dvc in there... but you dont want to see the wires

And sometimes that young man never grows out of it. I always have a couple of 10s in any car I drive. I don't necessarily want to shake the neighborhood, but I love any genre of music I'm listening to at the time to have a little kick to it.

I've been doing this a long time, and surprisingly, this is my first B2. Did a little trading with Eddie and got this one to mess around with. There's a good chance this may become my VONATS car for this year, but we'll see.

I will dig through my stuff and see if there is anything you might want.
Seems there is a dark side to Scr8p's madness.

I like it, looks well done , aside of that grate-board it looks like a bought conversion rather than home-made. But before you PM me: I have absolutely no use for a sprint car and more ultima projects than I can digest already.
Just wanted to let you all know what's going on. So, as some/most of you know I restore cars with my dad at his house. Been doing that as my only job for the last 13 years or so. Well, the last few years has been rough with having quality...

Yes, it is a shame to see so many people impacted by this mess. I made a joke to lighten the mood, but I am certain that things will return to some kind of normal for you soon. Maybe better! 8)
Where is a good place to find new RC10 parts? (other than eBay)
I see Tower Hobbies has a lot of RC10 stuff listed including a few things I see occasionally on ebay. Are there any other retailers that have a good selection?
