They don't show a Tomahawk, but maybe there's a lot of screw hardware similar to the vintage Scorpion? Never owned either but their chassis' look similar. I'd guess a good portion of that set would be similar.

Almost the same, and they will look great if you decide to polish the aluminum

I jumped on those dog bones, thanks for that link...I would have NEVER found those and my first international purchase, LoL. I will get the screw set soon also. I'm pretty sure I have all the screws, but some are stripped out and you're right, those stainless steel screws will look sweet with polished chrome. I am so glad I found you guys (My wife won't be) but I am  Thanks again, you guys are a huge help! Very appreciated!

Anytime you guys see an auction/link/whatever...to something I may need for this restoration, Please don't hesitate to post it here.

Thanks Hcp, I actually read through most of that through a Google search (That is what brought me here)! :D Excellent info there! Do any of you have an idea on how to clean up the steering servo plate? Mine has a few deep gashes I would like to get out. I think it's carbon fiber and sanding would get the scratches out but then could it be buffed? I am going to post a parts list here of what I am missing this weekend and I will keep it updated. I also will post pics of my progress through the restoration. I have some pretty big shoes to fill here, I have seen some cars here that shine!!!

Wouldn't I love to get my hands on this:

:( That price is crazy expensive!

I am going to post a list of parts I am needing here. Because these parts are just so hard to find, I would welcome any help locating some of them. I do check eBay often, but I never would have found those rear swing shafts without help (Thank you Lars). I will try to keep this updated as much as possible. I have my work cut out refinishing all the aluminum, but I did get the car completely tore down tonight. I plan on printing a manual out for easy reference. I also ordered a set of RCScrewz for a vintage Scorpion (Thank you Coelacanth). I will let you guys know how that goes.

Wheels (rims & tires) (SC-28/29) (SC-26/27)
Center gear (SC-39 or SC-61)?
Front & Rear Dampers (SC-10/SC-11)
Gear Base Cover (SC-36)
Motor Cover (SC-40)
Resisters (SC-74)
Rear Body Hook (SC-82)
Body & Decal kit (SC-71)
Driver Doll (SC-70)
Accessory Set (SC-72)
Paint # (Polyca Colors) I like that burgundy/red

During my tear down I noticed one of the knuckle arms is bent slightly. I may be able to straighten it out, but not sure.
So close, yet so far away! :?

I just got an email that Marwin is in the process of making tires for the Tomahawk/Scorpion.
http://www.marwanrc.com/

Anyone ever buy some of these? They look like good quality and affordable.

What would you guys think about these on a Tomahawk:

Great! Marwan's tires look to be very good quality. For rims, I would like to get something period correct, but just finding something that fits has been a challenge. I have found a few of the items on my list from ebay, but prices are high (naturally). There is a Canadian seller that sells repro Lexan Body's & dolls ($44 shipped for both). I seen a sticker kit for about $20, motor cover ($28 shipped) and resisters for $13 shipped. Finding all this stuff is not impossible, just expensive

Lars, would you know where to get paint that would be close to the original? I love the color you used for your Tomahawk R.

If I had the money, I think the Kyosho Javelin is one of the best looking vintage RC buggy's available. I seen an orange one on eBay that is just gorgeous! Plus, the spiky rear tires look Bad A$$!!!

I am needing some help from you Scorpion/Tomahawk enthusiasts. Does anyone know the sizes of the rims & shocks that fit these buggy's? Finding originals is going to be next to impossible, so I was wondering what other models would work on it. I have no idea on the size of these parts and the manual is not much help. This makes finding something that will work impossible :(

Even some links would be helpful. I have been trying to find this info for days now with no luck.

Since I have found this forum there have been several members that have helped me find parts. That is truly a blessing because I couldn't have found them on my own. I had no idea finding shocks and wheels would be so hard. I have located some of the parts on my list but the cost is what is holding me up, That will take time. I try to keep an eye on eBay since that will be my best bet at finding what I need. Everyone here has been a huge help though and I am grateful for that! :)
