Re: My OIN Worlds whatever you want to call it racer.
I should have waited for the new worlds car as it will probably be out before I finish this one, and cheaper. Even the new stealth would have been a cheaper option.
Anyways, new internals in the stealh with the typical B4 top shaft. I also went with the VTS slipper. The outdrives will be replaced when they become available again

Trans is mounted finally and it's starting to look like a buggy now. I pulled the pin and ordered a set of big bores.
I don't think I'll want to run this car when it's finished.

Looking good mate, I hope you do run it, was looking forward to this knocking off a few (read most/all) of the new buggies down at MP

Re: My OIN Worlds whatever you want to call it racer.
That was the idea that got this project started, to run it and make the A mains with it at MP with a 20yo car. Most of the nylon is Re-Re stuff for this reason, but the buggy is turning out better than I thought. Tracking down all the parts, ordering and waiting ages for parts, and the expense has me thinking twice. Re-Re worlds car would be cheaper and easier. I was hoping to have it finished by mid season but not sure I'll make that deadline.
I've got a brand new Hobbywing V3.1, 8.5T motor, spektrum receiver and low profile servo for it.
We'll see

Not racing, but I am gonna drop by, I'm oncall for work, and the last time I raced while oncall, I was getting phone calls while on the drivers stand, see you down there.RC10th wrote:Hey Kym,

Kind of have same thing going on here. Not as pretty though. I haven't messed around with trying to make that rear hub work yet as the race I'm prepping for is coming up. Besides I haven't begun to figure out how I'll make a drives haft work in the configuration you have pictured. However I'll continue to follow along.

Yeah, the rear axles are a bit of a worry but I'm too committed now. I'm quite surprised nobody has made a shaft to suit. I want to stick with it because B4 wheels with B4 hubs, stock arms and a CW wheel spacer is exactly the same width as the front conversion with B4 wheels.
I've shortened CVD bones in the past and while not the best or prettiest method still serves it purpose.

Re: My OIN Worlds whatever you want to call it racer.
I'm starting to run out of things to do till some more parts arrive, fingers crossed they get here quick.
Here is a worlds trans brace, factory body mount and A&L wing mounts. I had to re-drill the tower to get the mounts where I wanted them. I'm not sure if I'll run the big bores in front of or behind the tower. The general opinion is behind but then the tower needs to be spaced forwards slightly....... We'll see when they arrive

Battery cup relocated to accept full length lipos. I made a custom battery strap out of a carbon brace and also cut out the bottom of the battery cup.
So far so good.......

Re: My OIN Worlds whatever you want to call it racer.
I pretty much have all of the parts finalized and ready to complete this car now. The big bore shocks and a few other odds and ends arrived the other day. I also pulled the pin again and ordered a new nose plate, worlds chassis and a Turbo Mirage body. I cut out and mocked up a Viper to see how it all would work with the BB's and wing mounts. I like the more aggressive styling of the Turbo Mirage a bit better for this build though.
I'll probably end up building another car to run instead of this one.

Re: My OIN Worlds whatever you want to call it racer.
Big Bore shocks installed. Although I didn't want to I ended up spacing the rear shock tower forward 6mm. The shock angle seems correct and the tower doesn't seem to flex from normal use. I think next time I'll ask for a 3mm racers edition rear shock tower just for added stiffness.
