As you can see....I sold most of my cars. Funding Pinball now.
Surprised nobody mentioned the nerf bars. I recently got a set of wintage ones for my car. Mine are the same, but they are two separate pieces. It doesn't go all the way across like yours does. I'd think the way yours was manufactured would mage for a big spot for the car to get hung up on something.
BUT, they are very handy for people like me who break rear arm mounts on a regular basis. They cut down on the impacts the rear tire and arms receive when running the car hard. It's more of a function-over-form thing, because they don't necessarily look that great, but they do work really well.
I figured I would show the mess as it is right now during all these builds I am completing. How many RC10s can you count? The stock JRX2 build is the one lower right sitting on the box, hope to have that one done tomorrow.
Have a safe night, the...

So, having acquired a couple of ebay rescues to restore, I have what was described as a Cat, which I assumed was a Cougar, but on more detailed investigation is probably an original Storm?
I had an extra pair of Hot Trick style chassis support blanks laying around and an MIP SP1 trans that I had rebuilt, and somehow that turned into a complete build. Kind of road race or modified style with a cut down Scorcher body and a set of TRC...

I got the wing cut, bent, and test fit. It came out well. I love the little M2 nylon hardware.
Tonight I bought a hotplate for $19.00 to dye my parts in the basement. I have been using the grill outside, but it never got the water to a good boil.

do you have some sort of screen to keep the parts off the bottom which could warp parts???
I use a wire to hold it in the air.
As for the blue potatoes, I figured it was safer to take my chances without using the potato gauge.

Your gearing is wrong, you want less teeth to the pinion not more. Try a 10 tooth pinion on the 6 gear tranny, if it's still to hot go to a 9t.
Just picked this little beauty up at a local garage sale this morning. The guy who sold it to me said that it used to belong to his son and that it had not been used in many many years. You can see it still has bits of mud stuck to it from it's last...

That looks sweeet! highwayracer.
I need to get on the ball regarding my RC10 Hot Trick build. It will probably get started in the fall or winter as I am very busy now.
Oh man, this brings back memories. Had their thin fiberglass chassis and trailing arms on my RC10 way back when before coming to my senses and getting a Composite Craft graphite chassis and A&L trailing arms.
