Kyosho Stinger MKII late

Post by GoMachV »

Found this lonely Stinger on eBay and I was the only bidder. Removed the "too new" CZ-Z and will be installing a CZ-2 as soon as I clean it up. This is a late version with the black shocks and belt guard, early had red shocks. Later yet I believe they went to the steel spur, and that was my first gas car!

Glad I located a "cock belt" as the one on it is rotten!

Pulled it all apart and washed every piece with water and Dawn in my ultrasonic cleaner. Slowly going back together, this is is for tonight.

Yes they are copies that I cut. The motor needs to go out for bead blasting, then i can finish it up

I like the looks of the Stingers, just wish they were electric. ;) I like the color that body was painted.

I ran a electric converted stinger back in the day, custom chassis with saddle pack and a spur gear adapter to run a standard spur. It was ok, but I hadn't run much 4wd yet either lol. Lots of good memories of my first gas car, it seemed so fast back then.
Not sure about the wheel color. They are too nice to try to dye, IMO anyway
