Re: New RC10T2 Rebuild
I've owned this truck for over 10 years and it used to be a runner but most parts on it now are new except the chassis. I wasn't planning on running it since I replaced the arms, nose plate, motor guard, shock towers, bulkheads, arm mounts, trans case, body mounts, gear cover etc. If I replaced the chassis it would look almost as good as #1.
I'm a bit over it as I probably sound like a broken record by now, but I've been trying to find a new chassis for this truck for over 6 months now.
So - so far no plans to run it, but to keep checking ebay every two days.

Hmmm, look what I found. The perfect match to go in one of the T2's.

Re: New RC10T2 Rebuild
I think I've seen this seller's username on the forum here, but I could be mistaken...
If you're still looking for a chassis, this one looks to be in really good shape.
Trucks look awesome - best of luck finishing #2 up!

Re: New RC10T2 Rebuild
I've seen his name floating around here too. I probably would have bought that chassis except I bought a complete truck which technically is better value. The sad part is then there's enough parts for a 4th T2 that could be a runner. Not sure if I'll build a 4th or use left over parts on a GT or something.

Re: New RC10T2 Rebuild
Nothing sad about that! Maybe I should pick it up and start a new project...not too familiar with the specifics on that truck though as I've been obsessed with the 10T for so long then jumped to the T3. It does seem like those parts would be easier to come by than 10T stuff?
Anyway, I say build another, but I'm not one to talk considering I've currently only got one T2 and it's still sitting in the box unbuilt

Re: New RC10T2 Rebuild
I tried taking a few pictures of updates made to both trucks but wasn't happy with them, so I'll post this instead.
Both trucks are new builds. I found some correct tires for #1 so now it's 100% as it would have come out of the box. #2 received some new parts like a new chassis, Associated universals, correct spur gear, uncut battery strap and a few other stock goodies. I believe it is a very early production T2 as it has 10T type bearings (all metal sheilded except 3/8x5/8) It also has black 10T style shock collars and retainers. If anyone in the know could shed some light on this would be great.

Re: New RC10T2 Rebuild
Sadly I'm back to square one. Only need a chassis again
Everything here is newish and looks new, not a scratch on the nose plate or motor guard. I think I have a lead on a nice but not perfect chassis, thinking of getting it along with the nose/motor plate anodized blue.

Re: New RC10T2 Rebuild
It's not really the same truck anymore. You've replaced almost enough parts to build a third truck. I would take all the new parts off the scratched chassis and reassemble the one you've owned for 10 years. Then you'll almost be able to build a second new truck with the new parts you got for your old one.RC10th wrote:I've owned this truck for over 10 years and it used to be a runner but most parts on it now are new except the chassis.
