How would you set yours up?

Post by toybaron »

OK, its the late 1980's....your rich uncle shows up and takes you to your LHS...anything you want.... You choose a 6020 full kit...he says to you, OK how we gonna hop this up?

What hop up parts do you add and why? You'll be running on a decent semi-competitive off road course...

Be specific! Cost no object but parts have to be "off the shelf" commercially available and nothing after 1990...

probably some parma heavy duty heim ends with technacraft turnbuckles for durability. also, an a&l or houge steering bellcrank.

are you allowed to use modern radio gear(tx/rx) or does everything have to be pre1990?

can anyone enlighten me as to which iteration of rc10 a 6020 kit is?

6020 was a gold tub kit with battery...probably the white GE Saft 1000mah. not sure if it was a bearing kit though. :?

So if you were going to hop up a 6020 in 1989, probably best to grab a 6030 Graphite kit as well (you said your uncle was rich...).

And since uncle bucks is paying, why not have Jim Halsey build it? 8)

Kraft/KO radio and Rx, Futaba S130 steering servo, Novak T1X. Better batteries...seven cells. Reedy timer/temperature charger. Wicked Reedy 17 turn motor (gold star?)

And the stuff scr8p mentioned to harness all that horsepower.

So, got it built yet? 8)

JG bumper, Losi 4 row spiked tires, Proline waffle fronts, Proline wheels, Gonzo batteries, Checkpoint motor, RCRC/Ascot sprint car kit

Oh wait...that was my shopping list back then. I miss dirt oval.
